iPhone broken for good?

A friend was given a supposedly 'water damaged' iPhone 3GS... She stuck it in a bag of rice for a few days then tried it and it worked fine! She passed it onto me to jailbreak and unlock for her.

Since it had already been been updated to the latest firmware / baseband i had to do the iPad baseband hack using redsn0w.

It worked fine for a few days and then got stuck on the iphone restore screen... she tried to restore it in itunes (even though i told her not to) obviously it failed so she passed it back to me..

I restored the firmware again with redsn0w and gave her it back, an hour later she said it crashed again and brought it back... i fixed it again i instakked 4.3.1 on it and tested it, all worked fine.

I gave her it back and she said its crashing again straight away, she went onto cydia, ring tones then it crashed, now she can't get passed the home screen without it crashing and wants to bring it back again.

Would you say the phone is goosed?

Maybe the phone does have some light water damage?

Or is it likely the jailbreak has ruined it?

Is there anyway back from this?

I'd say she's cursed:P everytime she touches the phone, the damn thing just breaks!!
Being serious though, it could be the water DID damage something and those are the little glitches she's having?

My thoughts exactly.. i've jail broken lots of phones the same method and they all work fine but this one just wont stop crashing, funnily enough it's never crashed in my hands, but as soon as i hand it back over i'll have a text saying it's crashed again.
