    Default iphone 4 baseband and unlocking???

    I will be buying my iphone 4 this coming week but, Im going to buy one from the USA (I live in the UK). What I need to know is, which basebands can be unlocked?? I need to be certain that I get an iphone 4 that can be unlocked. Thanks in advance. The iphone will prob be locked to at&t or verizon. Thanks in advance guys

    The only iphone 4 bb that can be unlocked is 1.59

    Any chance you can drop by Canada, you can get factory unlocked iPhone here.

    Hi BigCol,

    In the UK you can get sim-free iPhones straight from the Apple store. I bought mine from the Covent Garden store.

    With sim-free phones you don't worry about baseband unlocking, of course, the price is higher in the UK :/

    With regards to the baseband version, I don't think you can get the old one anymore.

    Ive been scouring ebay and have come across something thats new toi me and that is "Bad ESN", I dont know what it means but from what I havce been looking at, it only effects Verizon iphone 4's. What doers bad ESN mean?? Thanks guys
