Need help unlocking after a jailbreak.

I have a iphone 3GS which was on the 3.1.3 and i jailbroke it and unlocked it to work with my vodafone sim card about 7 months ago, had no problems with it until recently, every now and the things where no right...thought it was time for an update, so i went on the net to see if there was a jailbreak and an unlock for the 4.3.1 and there was, followed the steps and people commented on how well it worked for them...for some reason it jailbreaks for me but when i added untrasn0w for the unlock it didnt work? i was thinking about downgrading to go to an older version is this possible of can it be donw on my new update? Any suggestions appreciated!

Thats why ultrasn0w wont work you needed to perserve you bb.
But you may try running fuzzyband in cydia and see if your able to down grade your bb.
If not then you will have to install the 6.15 bb which my give you problems

Ahh okay thankyou...Just installing fuzzyband now. If you dont mind me sidetracking for a slight second, why are there different basebands?

So yeah i installed Fuzzyband...and is said that its not supported There's an attachment...

Yeah then what you will need to do is is use redsn0w and install the ipad 6.15 bb or wait for an update for ultrasn0w

Sorry to be a pain but do you know of any tutorials for the red snow and secondly how will i found out if there is a update? if there a certain website where i can monitor it?

and as for a manual idk of one off the top of my head its pretty straight forward tho run redsn0w make sure you click install 6.15 bb and let redsn0w do its thing then once its done install unltasn0w to unlock it

Right just remembered i have redsnow but at the begining it asks for a ispw...this is the os for the phone itake it...but which os do i have to download? or have i got the wrong redsnow?

You need to download 4.3.1 ipsw and make sure you have redsn0w 9.6.12

Right, basically i go through the menus as you should installing the ipad baseband, then it says its starting to "reboot" and on my phone it says "Downloading jailbreak data" then windows comes up with this program has stopped working...was going so well, always one problem after another :S

okay that problem is sorted, had to run it in compatability mode windows 95 had someting to do with red not liking dual core processors

but its finish and phone turns on, cydia is installed but untrasn0w is already in the the source list? and sim card still not working?

ultrasnow repo is in the source list but ultrasnow is not installed, so you need to install ultrasnow now.
