IPhone-->iPod

Hi out there,
I was just bored in School when i thought about my good old dust collecting iphone 3G. I was thinking, is it possible to install an iPod fw on the iPhone making it to an iPod touch. Saying iPod in the corner, and have a "splittet iPod" like where Music and videos are on the home screen. I just want to dó this for showing off purposes. Just for fun.

No but you can gey sbsettings hide the phone app hide.the camera app and sms etc. Then grt the ipod to music thing from cydia finally using make it mine to makw it say ipod

There's a tweak that makes your iPod icon separated to music and videos. Don't know if it works on any of the new firmwares though but you could try it. Can't quite remember what the name is though.

If it's just for kicks you can take the phone to 3.1.3 if it isn't already so that MakeItMine will work. Then just change it to say iPod. As for the signal bars, I'm not so sure how to get rid of them.

Right but the space where the bars are supposed to be would still be there. So it wouldn't look the same :/

I know "MyOS" splits the iPod app for 99 cents (on iOS 4.3.1, and probably all iOS 4.x).

If there's no SIM in there, it'll say "No SIM" and there won't be a space for the signal bars--that should be covered without the gap with MiM.
