iPhone Doesn't show lock screen background

I jailbroke me iPhone with Greenp0ison a couple of months ago, and haven;t been able to get my wallpapers to show after that. Whenever I download a custom lockscreen, I just see a black background instead of the wallpaper.

Do you have winterboard installed?

I have a similar problem, i jailbroke my iphone 3G 4.2.1 But when i download custom theme's , it will Not show the -image- on the home screen (just a black screen) but the slide icon shows up and works. ifile /var/stash/themes lets you go to custom folders to edit or send lockBackground.png and Wallpaper.png back to camera roll, but only options are email photo/MMS/assign to contact/use as wallpaper. NO Lock Screen options? :/ help?!

it's a different filepath location from 4.2.1 onwards.

in the lockbackground.html you will see a line along the lines of

src="/private/var/mobile/Library/SpringBoard/LockBackground.jpg"


Put whatever picture you wish to use within the actual
theme folder and call it BG.png

then change the line above to

src="BG.png"

This looks like my fix! Before i yell "woohoo!"

Please* could you help me by a "Step by Step" guide through to fixing LockBackground!

Reason because very new and learning! after my Jailbreak to Cydia

This could make me so happy!

1) navigate to var/stash/themes/*your ls theme*

2) open the lockbackground.html

3) change the img src filepath to "BG.png"

4) place chosen image in the folder with everything else

like so




5) respring


the only problem is you have to manually change the BG when you want to change images.

Yes, os 4.2.1 and above will have this problem unless it has been specifically wrote for these fw

I am new to ifile.

I wasn't sure how to 5/ Respring?

Do i have to get an app in Cydia that has a Respring?

I tried changing a theme in winterboard the the prompt to "restring"

I am in ifile (i am on unregistered) not sure if payed ifile version has a special prompt- "restring! tap button" like winterboard.

I changed file to BG.png

After i edited file- then i saw it was in the same theme folder, so i left it there ,am not sure if that is correct..

I wasn't about-"place chosen image in folder with everything else"

But it didn't appear in lock screen?

I looked in winterboard it said it's original name.

I think a mucked up somewhere!
