Help with this issue please
I'm picking my brain apart trying to figure out what the heck is going on here. I am trying to restore my iphone to my Custom .ipa file (4.3.1) on itunes (Mac OSX) and keep getting an error (1).
Let me break down what 've done by the way:
I used pwnage tool to build my custom firmware (4.3.1) for my iPhone 3GS (new bootrom). All was good there no issues at all. I put my iPhone into DFU mode correctly multiple times and still get the error(1). I tried changing USB ports, didn't work. I tried getting onto redsnow, then verifying 4.2.1 only to pwned dfu mode my phone which completed properly, but once I got onto itunes and tried to restore it, I still got the error (1). I even tried getting onto my windows partition side and running iReb (because I can't get the crap to work on my mac side properly) and long story short, I get the error (1) as well. did everything there to to try and fix it and still nothing. My itunes is all updated to the latest version and so is everything else. Right now I'm restoring it via itunes by click letting them download the ipa and install it for me since I couldnt get anything else to work but I would love a solution for this so i can restore my iphone again to my custom 4.3.1 ipa and be jailbroken again.

Nitpicking question: do you mean .ipa, as in an iPhone application file, or .ipsw, an iPhone firmware file?
If you mean .ipa (application), make sure your app is correctly signed.
If you mean .ipsw (firmware), Error 1 when restoring is one of those "generally bad" errors--try another USB port, cable, computer (if you can); and make sure your iTunes is up-to-date.

well here is the issue now as well. I am trying to just restore my iphone now and just lett itune do the work by just downloading the latest firmware and install it all by itself (non-jailbreak) and the phone will not restore. It downloaded the firmware from itunes (4.3.1) and it starts installing it on my phone. The thing is it gets halfway, and it just stays there. I've restarted my iMac (didn't work), I made sure everything was all up to date (It was), and I tried it about 4 times now, same outcome every time. I even plugged it in this morning before work when I woke I woke up, turned on my iMac, and started it all up and figured I'd let it go all day while I'm at work and see if anything else happens, same thing. Itunes does not give me an error or anything, it just stays saying (itunes is installing firmware on your iphone) or something like that. Any Ideas anyone??? This is killing me, lol. I have not the slightest idea of what the issue is. And I did change usb ports as well by the way.

Do you have another computer you can attempt to restore on? After you restore, you can sync all your apps, music, contacts, etc. over from your original PC. That's about all I can suggest at the moment (assuming you're up-to-date on OS version, iTunes, and you've tried another USB cable as well as USB port).
