I have an iPhone 4 that was on FW 4.1 BB 1.59.00 and I updated to FW 4.3.1 using TinyUmbrella preserving the BB. All went well, and then I opened Cydia to run Ultrasn0w for unlock and I noticed Cydia didn't ask me to perform any updates. I ran Ultrasn0w and rebooted my phone using the slide to power off feature as asked by the dev team. Once rebooted T-mobile is now recognized and I can send text messages and make calls, but not internet, because the problem is with the Settings app. If I go into Settings > General > and click on Network, the tab highlights blue and freezes there, after waiting awhile the Settings app crashes. I also notice that if I go to General > About under "Carrier" it says "Not Available" but T-mobile is working fine.
Is anyone else experiencing this or did experience this and know a fix? I restored the phone using the same procedure with TinyUmbrella and rejailbroken and still having the same problem.
Frist of all, my phone & operating system specifications are like:
Mac OS Lion Preview 2
FixRecovery43
RedSnow 0.9 RC
TinyUmbrella v4.30.05
iPhone 4 GSM (FW4.3.1 8G4)
Carrier: T-mobile
BaseBand 01.59.00
I did like exactly how you did to your phone, and later on, I found out Network setting page won't open right away (Settings > General > and click on Network) Thought there's something wrong with jailbreak solution or ultras0w. So I updated ultras0w to the newer version and then restarted the phone with full of hope that would fix the issue. But, yet again, the network setting page still hangs in more than 30 sec until it displays settings, and not to mention "the lags" when you open apps or folders. Like you blackhaT, my carrier also indicates that it is not available, though all the phone functionality seems work adequately..
I'm having the same problem as you blackhaT, only I upgraded to 4.3.2, same bb. I really hope someone can help, not having internet access really takes the charm away.
EDIT: Forgot to mention: my problem with the network tab turning blue and freezing up only started after I had reset the network settings in order to find out why I couldn't use the internet.

This could be caused by Hacktivation of Snowbreeze.
Add this source to your cydia : "cydia.pushfix.info" without the quotes .
Then do a carrier reset fix : eject sim and reinsert sim ( with Ultrasn0w already installed ).
Note : Not sure this will help you fix this problem as this method has been used for earlier firmware versions.
OR try this to see if it works :
With Ultrasn0w installed , run redsn0w RC14, choose deactivate , then remove your sim and reinsert your unofficial sim to activate to get the correct carrier settings.

Hot diggety iYeow! Second day in a row you save my hide (and phone). That did the trick for me and it also fixed the internet connection as well, I hadn't been able to use safari AT all, not even on wifi. I feel bad that I can only thank you once :P THANK YOU!
EDIT: I installed the pushfix and ejected-reinserted the sim.

Cool, I am just trying to help to the best of my knowledge. You are very welcome.
If you do get a chance, go on eBay and get an unused official sim for your iPhone, it will save you lots of trouble when u restore again. It is all about triggering , activating and getting all the certs from apple
