3gs questions having a little problem , thanks !

i was given a 3gs , its at connect to itunes acreen. dont know history of phone but was told it was unlocked and thats it

i tried since not knowing firmware version restoring it with custom 3gs unlocked 4.2.1 firmware but get error 3194

iv also tried restoring it with itunes to newest version and get error 1015

and it goes back to connect to itunes screen

when i connect tiny umbrella it shows invalid on top line devid model

any suggestions , asap please thanks

If you are getting error 1015 restoring to 4.3.1 then chances are it has the ipad baseband on it. You will need to make a custom 4.3.1 with pwnage tool or snowbreeze and restore to that.

ok that still didnt work , used snowbreeze 2.5 , ran it under preserve baseband and tried restoring got error 1601

then tried simple mode , got error 21

any suggestions ?

Use expert mode. Then use redsnow 0.9.6rc12 to first enter pwned DFU. Then shift restore to the custom firmware in iTunes.

For future reference error 3194 is the error for lack of SHSHs or not utilizing them with TinyUmbrella.

Any restore to a custom firmware, the device must be set into pwned dfu mode.

And any device with the iPad baseband must use a custom firmware without the iPad baseband packaged in it.

Hopefully those bits of info will help you with future devices you may work with.
