Well that baseband cannot be unlocked, so if you are not using it with a official carrier right now then it must be factory unlocked. Is Telenor the official carrier of iPhone there?

That would be my guess. You should be fine to update to 4.3.1 no problem then. Once you are activated and back up and running on 4.3.1 then you can jailbreak with redsnow 0.9.6rc11.

If you do indeed have it working now on 5.14.02 baseband then you will be fine. Do the update normally in itunes. Make sure you are activated and the phone is working properly first before doing the jailbreak.

thanks x98car for soon response.dear moderator i am little bit confuse about my device because i read too much on internet about my iphone 3gs model MC131T for software update. An many sites i read that iphone 3gs model MC131T is factory unlocked officially.and i am also using it with all networks working fine.
instead of this i also read that if cydia and ultra snow is installed in cydia packages then it is not factory unlocked. i am so confuse.because i also have cydia installed in my device and also showing ultrasnow in cydia>manage>sources>repo666.ultrasnow.com so what should i understand my device is it factory unlocked or not?
i should install latest update via itunes or not?
what is guarrentte if i update my device via itunes it will be activated by itunes?if not what will i have to do to make it unlock?
thanks in advance plz reply in detail.

Also do this first: Uninstall ultrasnow from cydia, then reboot and tell me if you still get cell phone signal.
Looking up your model number it seems to be an italian iPhone which should mean it is indeed factory unlocked. Do the test first by installing ultrasnow and see if you still get signal.Last edited by Simon; 04-09-2011 at 09:17 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Yes, you can always reinstall ultrasnow, but ultrasnow doesnt work on that baseband so it shouldnt make a difference if it is there or not. Whoever installed it probably didnt realize that.

You don't need custom firmware since you have a factory unlocked iPhone. Just plug your iPhone in and in iTunes click update. Keep the sim card in the iPhone.
