iPhone 3g cannot restore 1618. Stuck in DFU mode

OK so i have an iPhone here. It doesnt boot up, see absolutely nothing on the screen, I have tried Tinyumbrella and it says its in DFU mode, iTunes is saying its in recovery mode and needs to be restored, I've used iReb and it says it is in a Pwned state but whenever i try to restore in iTunes with custom or stock it gets to either the apple or snowbreeze logo on screen and the spinning wheel and says preparing iphone for restore but then just stops with the 1618 error. I've tried reinstalling and basically anything else I can think of, just cant get passed that part of the restore.

Any ideas anyone?

did you check your hosts file for references to apple server? If you find it there, remove it, restart iTunes and try again.

Ye, tried that, still no luck. Sometimes it isnt even getting to logo on screen, just stopping with 1600 or 1602.

I've been rattling my brain for hours. Cant find a fix at all!
