Iphone 4 jailbreak options?

Hi I have an iphone 4 on 4.1 (8B117) modem firmware 01.59.00 jailbroken running cydia.

shsh's saved 4.0.1, 4.0.2, 4.1, 4.2.1, 4.2b3, 4.3b2

I have not checked recently but believe there is a method for an untethered jailbreak for the 4.3.1 itunes keeps asking me to upgrade to.

The method I have read up on is redsn0w, is this the only method, are there any problems I need to be aware of in upgrading or jailbreaking? Should I be preserving my baseband or anything?

Preserving the bb is what keeps the phone unlockable. If you don't need an unlock then you have nothing to worry about

So I don't need to do anything, just go straight ahead with update then jailbreak then? Is redsn0w the only untethered on around?

right, panicking now!!! not even got to redsn0w stage, just trying to update and the phone just keeps going to "restore" then when I try to restore it says this iphone could not be restored, error 1013. Any ideas please?
