iPhone 3G - NOT jailbroken, NOT unlocked.. No wifi?

I have an iPhone 3G

Version 3.1.2
Modem Firmware: 05.11.07

Which I realize is jailbreakable and unlockable... BUT it does not pick up any wifi networks when I try to connect to one... My iPhone 3GS picks up the network, runs fine on it as does my laptop, but this iPhone picks nothing up... 2 different networks now too so I am 100% sure it is the phone...

I am looking to jailbreak/unlock and obviously fix the wifi issue... Any advice?

Try just to restore first if that doesnt fix the wifi then its probably a hardware issue. Does it pick up service signal?

if i just download the 3.1.2 firmware, can i use that to restore and it wont upgrade the BB? It got service, no problem. Just seems to not get wifi...

I think you will need to do 3.1.3 but its still unlockable on that bb

I restored with 3.1.3 and still not finding any wifi

I suppose if I am unable to get the wifi working I can at least jailbreak / unlock it... Is there a way to do this without WIFI though?

Yeah you can use redsn0w to do it. But my question is does it show carrier signal

If I insert a AT&T SIM CARD, yes it does show a carrier signal.

Ok then you can jailbreak my worry was that you antenna as a whole didn't work

Should be I be worried using the "UNLOCK" feature of redsn0w 0.9.4 with an iPhone 3G?

I am having one hell of a time trying to update Cydia and Unlock using 3G... Is there any other alternatives than using wifi or 3G?

Update: Got the phone jailbroken and unlocked through 3G, just took forever... BUT still no wifi.... Would this be an antenna issue if the Signal works or is it some other sort of issue??
