Ok getting slightly frustrated now, lol.

So yesterday I began the process of snowbreeze to upgrade my 3GS from 4.0.1 to 4.3.1. Everything was fine, no issues, then...

With roughly maybe 10-5 seconds left of itunes restoring my custom firmware from snowbreeze it hit me with an error 37. With some help from "x98car" 37 has something to do with an ipod touch 2g something loaded into the custom firmware(no idea what that is about).

So after messing around and trying new ipsw's i end up with the same error every single time. Thats fine I will just load up my previous 4.0.1. All was fine it restored and left my phone in DFU that i cant get out of now. I have tried tinyumbrella to fix recovery but that doesnt work(some kind of error), then tried a fix recovery stand alone but another error. So lets try the 4.3.1 fw again.

And we are back to the itunes 37 error again while stuck in DFU mode. Holding both buttons hasnt worked at all and I have tried all numerous combinations of redsnow, snowbreeze, and tinyumbrella with no avail.

"x98car" suggested I find a custom 4.3.1 ipsw for the 3GS with my baseband of 3.15.04 made by pwnage tool and not snowbreeze but I havent found one.


Would be very grateful if someone could help me out Thanx in advance!!

Haha that was cool car!! Yeah I actually ended up finding one and downloaded it but itunes said it wasnt compatible. Whatever, lol

So I took the plunge and said screw it, I restored to apples 4.3.1 and jailbroke it with redsnow, then tried to restore with my snowbreeze with the help of tinyumbrella and I got error 37 again, lol. So I am just going to restore back to apples again now and use redsnow to add the ipad baseband(i dont use gps anyway, lol). Then hopefully later I will be able to use my snowbreeze fw.

It probably said not compatible because you either downloaded the wrong one for your device or you downloaded it as a .zip file (very common) in which case you would have just has to rename the extension to .iosw instead of .zip.

I made the zip mistake a long time ago and make sure i dont it now lol. The one I downloaded was the untethered, activated 3GS one, pretty sure that was correct. Its all good though

I went from 4.2.1 to 4.3.1, now stuck in the error and can't to anything.

Done, now just working on getting it unlocked.

Just restore with apples 4.3.1(make sure you have a backup in itunes and that you have an original sim, i do), you will need that to get all of your contacts and such back.

After you are restored use redsnow.

Just made it to 4.2.1 but the cydia was jacked and I was waiting for an activation, lol.

Told you, I always have some kind of issue

EDIT; Sn0wbreeze 2.5.1 gave me the 1015 error which i then used "fixrecovery43" on(after downloading the dll file, lol). Now I am 4.3.1 JB n Unlocked, finally!!! I wish that new sn0w would have came out yesterday, I would still be on 5.13BB haha.
