Default 4.0.1 to 4.3.1 Preserving Baseband - stuck in recovery mode.

    Story:
So I followed this guide to try and upgrade my phone and preserve my baseband.

How to Update iPhone 4 to 4.3.1 With Preserving 01.59.00 Baseband | GeoHot Jailbreak

Everything went according to the guide up until Step 6 (phone loaded software, got error failing to update baseband, all good) but then the phone got the usb cable itunes icon on screen and won't go away no matter what I do.

All 'exit' recovery programs i've tried failed, are waiting for DFU mode, or don't detect that an iphone is plugged in.

I did a 2nd restore following the directions again, same issue still.

No matter how I hold power and home, if power is held for 3+ seconds it turns off.. then on... and off, repeating till I let go.

Read some trick about holding HOME and connecting the usb cable, didnt work.

Basically I'm stuck and a few hours of searching google and trying solutions I'm not further along. Any suggestions?

Fixed, I did the snowbreeze restore method which apparently just came out as well. version 2.5 following their instructions fixed everything. Baseband preserved at 01.59.00 as well.

Ugh. Same problem, but I'm on OS X, so I can't use Snowbreeze.

Ran TU's TSS Server, restored in iTunes with the downloaded iOS 4.3.1, got error 1013, ran FixRecovery43. Nothing was happening.

Put iPhone in DFU mode using Pwnage Tool's helper and ran FixRecovery43. In Terminal, the code looked like it was working OK, but my phone was stuck in recovery mode afterwards.

Tried putting it in DFU mode and running FixRecovery43 again, but the same thing happened.

    Suggestions?

    EDIT: Ugh. Downgraded to 4.2.1.
