iPhone 3gs Restore Issues

I have a 3GS (baseband 5.13.4) running 4.0 iOS and JB/UL so I can run it on T-mobile. I've had the phone since the week the iPhone 4 came out as I got it at a good price from an upgrader. So I upgraded it to 4.0, ran jailbreakme.com and then added Ultrasn0w to UL it. Since, it's been bipolar. It will work great for a month to numerous months but then it'll decide to stop working right for a couple days to a couple weeks. And then it'll work fine again just fine. It will come up and say "Restore needed" and then reboot. Then it gets stuck in recovery/DFU mode. I'll be honest, I don't know which is which as I can get either but one can make emergency calls and the other just has the connect to iTunes logo. Either way, it goes to the emergency calls option. I've researched it on here like a million times and I know to hard reboot it with power/home buttons till the apple logo appears. I do this for literally an hour to an hour and a half. Then after 100 times of rebooting, it'll finally just say "ok, I will work now." Once it decides to stop being a *****, I have to connect to the app store and download/update something or I can't use any of my apps. Now back to the rebooting, I've tried it all. Hold power and home till it reboots and let go when you see the logo. Hold power for 5 seconds then the home and let it reboot then let go at logo. Hold both buttons till logo and let go of power and this goes into the mode where it's just the connect to iTunes logo and nothing else. I'm not even joking on the hour to hour and a half before it works. During the week of being a little ***** phone, it will do this literally once a day for 5-7 days and then it'll be fine for months. Then we get back. I am getting less and less patience for this. So I would like to A: fix this issue and potentially B: upgrade to a new version/better OS that will not have this issue. Again, I need to retain Unlock so I can use it on T-mobile so I think that eliminates 4.3.1. I've tried running TinyUmbrella for the fix but it just has the spinning wheels and doesn't exit recovery and won't even give me the option to fix recovery. I've tried using RecBoot but it won't even load on my POS laptop as I need some other file even though I've installed LISUSB or whatever it's called. I want to fix this but I don't want to deal with having to redownload all my apps, music etc. I have 7gb of music on here and I have no real way of knowing which file each song was in yet it'd take HOURS to manually write down how it all was. I don't copy music into my library and then to the phone. I just drag straight from my music file to the iPhone tab via iTunes. I hate doubling up the space on my computer for music.

I'm a huge iPhone fan and this is my second one. I don't have the money for a new phone, I prefer iPhone over android but I'm seriously about ready to switch to an Evo. I'm not the smartest person here but I need some serious help. I'm about ready to break this damn thing... HELP!!!

it's never taken this long to fix but I'm going on 3 hours and still nothing. It's about ready to get thrown from the car at 80mph...

It's the first day over 80 degrees and I'm stuck inside on this damn computer trying to fix my piece of **** iPhone... sorry, after 5 hours of sitting here, I'm losing my nerve.

First of All u MUST have 4.2.1 blobs saved. Then u create a cfw with sn0wbreeze(preserves ur baseband) and u put into pwned dfu with redsn0w and you should be good 2 GO

Well I haven't saved any SHSH's except in Cydia (or so it says). So if I cannot get my phone to be recognized by TU, how am I to save blobs?

really surprised no one on here has an idea. Come on experts! I'm desperate here... I don't want to lose out on all my pictures, music, games/apps that aren't backed up.

If you are at emergency screen, then you have restored sucessfully. All you need is to insert official sim to trigger into homescreen.
To be able to download all available shsh, if TU doesn't show your iphone on the left hand side, then gp to iclarified and search for how to retrieve Ecid of iPhone then input into Tiny umbrella and click save shsh. once downloaded you can start TSS server and do your restore.
If you see iTunes cable logo without slider, then you are in recovery mode and need to restore

TU seems to recognize my phone and gives me the details at the bottom. I have an AT&T sim in the phone but I cannot get it to trigger the homescreen. I'm clueless. I've tried recovery and DFU states via iReb, TU, and manual rebooting but I am really sick of seeing the emergency screen.

and i'm even more sick of reading forums just to notice people have no clue what's going on like they do here. I just wish this was a live chat room with help. lol I've literally been wasting my entire day off on the laptop working on this. 13.5 hours thus far.

guys i have a problem with my iphone 3gs, it wont come out of recovery mode. my phone is jailbroken. i tried it to restore but failed and its stuck on itunes logo, please help me
