Updating a non jailbroken device on same computer

Hi there,

I have a jailbroken ipod touch (2G) which is set up on my itunes. My girlfriend also uses this computer to charge her iphone (3Gs) which is NOT jailbroken. Her software version is very outdated and she would like to update it using my computer.

Is this safe to do seeing as the update will verify with apple? When updating my touch I usually restore>update>then re-jailbreak. Im obviously very hesitant to update hers as I am not sure if its going to cause issues.

Any help much appreciated!

nothing will happen..... all you have to do is update to the latest and nothing will be wrong

On your gf's phone what fw and bb does she have on her phone? If she doesn't mind losing her unlock ability then simple step is to update to the latest iOS being offer by itune. But I would sit tight until all the messy stuff gets iron out before you jump ship!!!! There are lots of people who updated to 4.3.1 having 1 bar singal issue, not sure what it is yet but she should sit tight and wait!! As far as using the same computer it's not a problem.

You fail your job as her bf, because you should have save her SHSH all along, just messing with you!! Again sit tight do not update until the jb community finds out why all these people are getting one bar singal after upgrade and attemp to jb it.......

he didnt say that he wanted to jailbreak it.... she wants it updated so he is going to do it for her on the computer

i didn't she did, all i said was he should have save her shsh for future, if and when she wants to j/b reread please
i also said it wasn't a problem to use his computer to update his gf device. just a precaution so that he'll have the nessary tools to either upgrade or downgrade her ios in the future........

mine arent fails...

^they are having those issues because they were unlocked and they updated.... that is all im sure...
