Opinion needed to Upgrade 3gs from 3.1.3 to latest

Hello everyone. If I can get your guys opinion on upgrading to the latest 4.3.1 or even the 4.2.1.

Here is what I currently have:

Iphone 3gs running on 3.1.3 (jailbroken) on modem firmware 05.12.01

Model is MB715LL

Carrier 5.6

The phone is running great however I can not use new apps. I also use tethering on the phone so its very important to have. I purchase the MyWi to be able to tether the phone which works great.

if I update to 4.3 or 4.2, would I lose my tethering capabilities?


How is 4.x performance with the 3gs phone? any lag.

well you will have to go straight to the 4.3.1 unless you have your SHSH..... from what i hear there is a little lag, but not that much.... i have the 3G and it lags a bit, but im used to it.....

other then that it is completely your choice what to do.... i would reccomend going to at least 4.1 or even 4.2.1.... but if you rely on an unlock then 4.0.1 is the farthest that you can safely go i think....
