3GS stuck in dfu after successful restore

hi guys I have a 3sg and put in pwn dfu mode and then restores it with a custom 4.2.1 Ipsw is flashed and iTunes said that it was successful and that it will restart. The phone never restarts and it stays in dfu mode. I tried umbrella to kick it out of dfu but that woesnt work I also tried the program that I used to put it in pwn dfu mode to kick it out and that didn't work either. Please help I looked all over and all I can find is suggestions to use umbrella.

Do you have 4.2.1 SHSH?

Happened to my friend yesterday , run greenpois0n and should fix it apparantly. Could be wrong but not gonna do it any harm and can then just uninstall the installer app.

Bo I do not have the shsh. I'll try the greenpoision method.

If you dont have the SHSH for 4.2.1 then that is why you are being left in DFU mode. You need SHSH to make a successful restore to a firmware.

So I can use umbrella to get the shah?

Only if you have them on file with cydia already.

Press save SHSH. Even if you didnt save them before you may find you at least have 4.1 SHSH.

I didn't save the shsh from an earlier jb. I just got the phone. What can I do to get 4.2.1 in it?

Download tiny umbrella and press save SHSH with it connected. See what you can get first.

i am not able to press the save shsh button on TU. it says that the phone is connected an in dfu mode.

ok i did that and i see 4.1 and 3.1.2 for the 3gs i saved them. started the server and opened itunes. Shift restored and got error 1600

Are you trying to restore to regular firmware or custom firmware?

I've been having the same issue, I have a 3GS with 4.2.1 on 6.15.00 and it is stuck in Dfu mode. Any ideas?
