    Default Re-jailbreaking question

I wanted to re-install Cydia on my iphone4 because I accidentally deleted it.
Since I have checked make my life easier in Cydia, could I just reset my phone and then re-jailbreak my phone using greenpoison?
And if so, would I be basically back on 4.2.1 and be jailbroken again?
Or would I need to restore with iTunes if I reset my phone and thus be on 4.3.1?
    Thanks for any help?

You'd want to make sure SHSHs for 4.2.1 are saved by downloading to your computer tinyumbrella from thefirmwareumbrella.blogspot.com

If you have SHSHs for 4.2.1, you would want to restore to 4.2.1 then run greenpois0n on it.

You can try running redsn0w 0.9.6rc8 on it just to install Cydia on it without restoring, but I don't know how well that would work. It could work though. But I won't guarantee it to avoid responsibility of screwing your phone up

Don't try redsn0w unless you're sure you have SHSHs for 4.2.1 saved so if anything goes wrong you can restore.

I've been trying this resn0w approach and I can't seem to figure it out.
I however remember having quite a few firmware numbers when I had the Cydia store on my phone.
I still have mywi and my 3G on and operating on my ip4 but I removed the damn store.
I still need to go to tinyumbrella to make this all happen though or not?
    Just trying to verify.

If you can't get redsn0w to install Cydia again, you will have to use TinyUmbrella to check for 4.2.1 SHSHs. Only then if you have the SHSHs will you be able to restore and install the jb/Cydia back on your device.

You can reinstall Cydia w/out rejailbreaking. Get the Cydia.deb file here:

It saves your SHSHs, but you use TinyUmbrella to pull any SHSHs saved in locally to use with the TSS server so that you can actually utilize the SHSHs to restore with. Depending on when you clicked make my life easier in Cydia, you may or may not have SHSHs for 4.2.1. You would want to use TinyUmbrella anyway in the end to get your desired result, bc you have to pull those SHSHs from Cydia into TinyUmbrella, run the TSS server, then be able to restore properly to 4.2.1 without being forced up to 4.3.1.

U will first create two folders on your desktop: Cydia and AutoInstall ( pay attention to capitalization)
-Copy and paste the Cydia.deb file into the AutoInstall folder you created
-Drop the AutoInstall folder into the Cydia folder
-Now place the Cydia folder into /var/root/Media
    -The final result will be:
    /var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall/Cydia.deb
REBOOT and Cydia will be installed!

I'm inclined to say if SHSHs are available that a restore would be the simplest route. This method could be more advanced for some users; however, if you OP decide this is a method you'd prefer to take or if you have no SHSHs to restore to, this is a working method.
