Best version of 4.xx for a 3G?

I have been running 3.1.3 and love it but due to now converting our business to using Square for credit card processing the phone has to be running iOS 4. I'm hoping one version of 4 is better than the other for speed of the phone. Thanks!


PS I want to be Jailbroken but it doesn't need to be unlocked, for now.

4.2.1 is probably the best/fastest 4.x firmware.

depends if you've got a 3gs or 3G, and whether or not you've got shsh for any firmwares

I have a 3G and I don't think I have the shsh's. The phone is not used as a phone anymore just wifi.

then 4.2.1 is the best bet for you, it's the fastest 4.x for 3g, so I've been told. it's also the last firmware available for the 3g, apple has dis-continued support for older devices

i would have said 4.1, but since you dont have the SHSH then you have to go to 4.2.1.....
