iphone 4 on 4.1 wanting to upgrade to 4.2.1 not 4.3

Hi everyone, a friend of mine is in a bit of a pickle. She purchased an iphone 4 at 4.1 and failed to upgrade to 4.2.1 . Now with the release of 4.3 she's realized she needs to upgrade in order to download apps, ( or so she says ) and needs to upgrade but doesnt want 4.3 because of the tethered jailbreak.

Can it be done? update to 4.2.1 rather than 4.3 ?

damn, ya she hasnt jailbroken at 4.1 yet, so I believe she's outa luck. thanks for the help.
