Completely broken Ipod Touch 3g or not?
Hi Guys
I have an iPod Touch 3g 64 gb that is recognized as an iPhone. At some point I was to retrieve the Firmware it is 3.1.2 It is always stuck in DFU mode and it shows no icons /images on the screen. If I run redsnow it will show Downloading Jailbreak data and text scrolling on the screen but the it will stop at Mounting disk0s2s1 with an error. After reading a lot of post I was able to get this info with iRecovery from the iPod. The only way to get here is to run Greenpois0n.

Do you have any SHSHs saved to restore with?

A restore is your best (and likely only) option. Not a lot I can discern from that output, as it leads me to believe your iBSS is... well, behaving like iBSS should.
A dump from iBoot proper (e.g., recovery mode with the "Connect to iTunes" logo) may be more help, but about the only help it'd provide would be "fixable with a restore" versus "hardware's bricked." You can discern that with attempting a restore more easily, really.
Download TinyUmbrella (The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella), use it to see what SHSHs you have saved, and restore accordingly. Good luck.

Hi all
thank you for the input. Unfortunately I have tried a restore with Itunes and because I only have shsh's for 4.1 and 4.3 , it seems that a total upgrade to 4.3.1 is in order. The problem is that every time I try,as my iDevice is detected as an iPhone, Itunes shows error 1600 or 11 when I connect to apple directly.
How to get around this problem?

I tried and it is not working. I think is not working because it thinks it is an iPhone when actually it's an ipod touch.I am sorry, I know I am a newby a this but looking at the original dump, where the Disk0 is not mounting, is there a way to fix this? Any commands to for fixing the disk? Also what does it mean "A dump from iBoot"? How do I retrieve it?

Thanks againLast edited by mrgadget1; 03-30-2011 at 07:08 PM.
