    Default tethered to untethered

    Hi all,

i'm a complete n00b when it comes to jailbreaking. it all seems reasonably easy but i have 1 question. i am currently running ios4.3 on the iphone 4. there is only a tethered jailbreak currently available. if i do this, is it easy to upgrade to an untethered jailbreak once one is released? how would i go about doing this?

    Many thanks.

Normally you would have to restore and rejailbreak with the untethered jailbreak. There are sometimes exceptions to this though.

Make sure to save your SHSH with tiny umbrella.

thank you for your post. would the restore need to be with itunes or is there a better program for this?

if i understand correctly, i would save the shsh blobs, restore with itunes and then i could roll back any firmware using the saved shsh blobs?

Yes, restores are always done with itunes. Check the "Using tiny umbrella" link in my signature for the how to.
