What to do: 4.2.1 Unlock Woes

I previously updated my iPhone 3GS from 4.01 (I think) to 4.2.1. Using Sn0wbreeze, I jailbroke, unlocked it and connected to my T-Mobile network successfully. Everything worked fine with the exception of the Mail app crashing. I put up with it for a little while before deciding I would restore the iPhone. I re-restored it and ran into some problems with Cydia. Since it was in a limbo state anyway, I decided to re-re-restore it (this is the 3rd attempt).

Here is where I think I ran into problems: I accidentally selected the official firmware and not the one I modified with Sn0wbreeze. After I realized my mistake I restored it once more (4th time) and now everything works perfectly except I can no longer connect with T-Mobile as a carrier. It is in a constant 'Searching...' state.

I don't recall what my BB was before, but now it is 05.15.14. I have heard that some people have success with the iPad BB, but that it messes things up for others. Should I restore with the iPad BB or should I wait for 4.3.1 to come out with an untethered jailbreak and an unlock? Will 05.15.14 ever be unlocked? If I use the iPad BB will I ever be able to return to a normal BB?

Thanks for any help and information. I mainly use Skype on my iphone as I'm around WiFi all day but like having my T-Mobile Pay As You Go plan for emergencies. I don't mind waiting for a month or so if an unlock solution is projected in that timeframe.

when you restore to stock fw 4.2.1 it change your bb as well. now you restore again with cfw but your bb stay at stock 4.2.1's bb its not unlockable at this tim that why you can no longer use it with t-mobile, i never in favor of update to ipad's bb, because you can never go back you are stuck there for now until dev.team comes up with a downgrade. i think its best that you wait a bit because they are working on a untethered jb for 4.3.1 snowbreeze 4.2.....and it may come with unlock, keep the faith!!
