    Default TinyUmbrella problem starting TSS
I got TU to save my SHSH but now that i want to restore i get a msg
    Cannot start TSS service
Do not try restoring your device
TinyUmbrella must be run as an Administrator

I did click on the TU icon to set it so that it runs in Administrator mode but it makes not difference.

I have searched all over the net but could not find anything with this exact msg.
    Someone please help me.
    Thank you

I get this message to when I got skype running. Turn off any applications running and make sure your firewall allows t/u through and access the net.

What about windows firewall. Has nothing to do with your antivirus. See if t/u is being blocked. What operating system are you running on your machine

O.k. I am on 7 also. Can you run t/u again and when it displays the error word for word what does it say. Every time I get the error it tells what is causing it not to work. If it dosent say try un installing again but install as administrator

Ok shut down t/u and now right click( button to the right of the mouse) on the app. A window should pop up. Click on run as administrator. That should do it. If you are not the admin of the pc you might be asked to enter the admin pass word. Let me know if this works

Well that is what the code t/u is giving you. I don't know what else to do. Sorry I tried. Good luck.

Hi, I had same problem when I was running on windows XP, I just turned off/disabled all the anitvirus and firewall, then strated running Start Tss Service on Tinyumbrella, it work perfectly. I suggest you do the same and try it again.
    All the best

you guys didnt allow windows firewall to give it the ok. when you first run, it should ask you if you want to allow it to have inter access..if you didnt do that, thats why it wouldn't work

Found the problem guys, the likely culprit to this issue is that your anti-virus is blocking TinyUnbrella's ability to edit your hosts file (fyi, usually found in this directory >> C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts << it's also opened/edited with notepad though you might need to change your access to do this by right clicking the host file then clicking properties, security; then click your username, then edit, click your username again and click Full Control then apply).

    Hopefully this helps, take care.
