Error 127 when installing or removing packages in Cydia
Hi Guys,
First off I apologize because I am a total rookie with the whole jail breaking thing, but I am learning quickly now.
Anyways, I was talking to my buddy about wanting to jailbreak my Ihone 4 so I could tether to my Ipad and he told me he could do it no problem. So I let him borrow my phone and he jail broke it and installed mywi. I was playing around in Cydia and noticed that the app said it was cracked. I did a little more research on the "cracked" apps in this forum and decided that I wanted to remove it and get the legit version. I uninstalled the Mywi in cydia without a hitch but when I tried to uninstall the on demand part I get an error 127 and it fails.
After reading about similar issues I need to install ifile, or openssh but when I try to install any of those i get a subprocess pre-removal script returned error exit status 127.
Any recommendations how to get this off my phone??
Lesson of the day....dont let anyone else F with your phone.
Any chance you can reinstall mywi? I've heard of people running into this, and the best fix is usually reinstalling the app causing problems, rebooting, then removing it again (this time, remove mywi on demand which should remove mywi as it should be a dependent). I'm assuming he still has the cracked repo on there. You may have to reinstall that version temporarily.
Worst case, just restore and rejailbreak. Hopefully you have your 4.2.1 or previous SHSH. If not, you'll be stuck on a tethered 4.3 jailbreak, if you have to restore to fix it.
I have a similar problem, and this has to do with uninstalling and reinstalling MyWi and MyWi on demand. I always get the same error trying to remove MyWi on Demand, so I tried reinstalling both MyWi cracked and MyWi on Demand, but the stupid thing is everything I try to install now requires the removal of MyWi on Demand from my phone. So I basically can't intall anything from Cydia anymore for the fact that every attempt to install something requires the removal of MyWi on demand which is just going to throw the same error code. Anyone have suggestions?
Yep....exactly the same problem here. Tried to remove MyWi and Mywi on Demand from my iPad and now I can't remove or install ANYTHING from Cydia. Have read that you can possibly remove everything manually via iFile, but I haven't figured out how to get that on my machine without using Cydia.
