Trying to jailbreak with greenposion. problem is that GP doesnt recognize my 3g in dfu mode. any thoughts???

greenpoison doesnt work on iPhone 3G. You have to use redsnow 0.9.6rc8 for that.

oh ok thank you on another site it said you could use GP with the 3g. Thanks alot. another question then when i tried using the redsnow 9.6rc8. I get all the way to uploading ramdisk then it freezes for a while. So I just cancel out. any ideas with that.. thanks again

If you are running redsnow on vista or windows 7 then you need to run it in windows xp sp2 compatibility mode.

You can either right click on it and choose properties and choose it or choose troubleshoot compatibility for a wizard on doing it.

x98 maybe you would know. why does my volume display appear everytime i touch my phone, and the volume goes up and down by itself. any thoughts. thanks

Sounds like a hardware issue, something may be causing the volume sensors to think they are being pressed.
