To Jailbreak or Not to Jailbreak?
So I just got an iPhone 4 (4.2.1) and really want to jailbreak it but am apprehensive because:
1. It voids warranty and I'm afraid if I drop it and it breaks I'll be screwed.
2. Bricking it = paper weight = $200 down the drain
3. Downloading an app or apps that will compromise my private info.
Here's the thing - I successfully jailbroke my old iPhone 3 because the warranty was already up. I did it using green poison and had no problems whatsoever. I mainly want to jailbreak to customize
And personalize my iPhone. I want the lock screen info that tells me not just missed calls but missed emails.I want the pull down screen that tells me this info as well and I want video wallpaper.
What do you all think I should do?

I heard Apple can always tell if you jailbreak your phone even if you do a restore.

As far as personal info, change your root password and you'll be fine :P but JB unlocks the TRUE potential of your phone

Ftw= for the win, it's like saying it's awesome etc. Once you JB, go to cydia and it will have a section titled "how to change root password" just follow the steps
Also if the phone doesn't work, they'll have no idea it's been JB because they have to fix it, deleting everything in the phone in the processLast edited by robublind101; 03-20-2011 at 12:54 PM. Reason: Adding

Oh I thought the lockinfo was exclusively for the lockscreen and not the pull-down screen. I'll check it out. Thank u!

Lockinfo is for the lockscreen. I assumed when you said pull down it was the one that comes down from the status bar which is sbsettings
