Urgent help required for a total novice!

HI All my first bost here and require some help (easy step by step instructions please)

I have a iphone 3gs on 3.1.3 and jailbroken by spirit (untethered).

I want to upgrade my phone to latest software possible what can be easily jailbroken (untethered) i only know about the jailbreakme website so think this is 4.0.1???

PLease can some one tell me how i can update to that software version as itunes will only uodate to the very latest version which i cant jailbreak (untethered).


2 nd request can someone tell me how can i easily back up all my apps now before i try and upgrade my iphone please any guide /help will be much apprieated.

You need SHSHs to restore to anything below 4.3. If you have SHSHs, you can go from there. So, figure that part out first

TinyUmbrella from thefirmwareumbrella.blogspot.com is what you want to use from your computer to see if you have any SHSHs
