    Default iPhone 3G firmware 3.1.3 upgrade to 4.1

    hi guys, im sorry if this has been posted before but I couldn't find anything similar to my question. I have an iPhone 3g with bb 5.12.01 and firmware 3.1.3. I wanted to update to 4.1 (which i heard is the best option for the 3G, not sure about the subsequent releases) because some apps i wanted to download required iOS 4.X.

    my question is, if i want to keep my phone unlocked and jailbroken, can I just follow the guide on the general iphone forum? Do you guys have any advice for me because I dont want my phone to get messed up. Any advice would be great. thanks in advance.
