Okay so this is the SECOND time I left my iphone on top of my car.. two door, toddler, child seat, screaming kid... yup well at least i got the 32 gig white this time.

so heres my dilema did a redsnow jailbreak and cydia unlock last go round for 4.2.1. it worked wonderfully.

now on the 32 gig, 4.2.1 and 06.15.00, did the redsnow jailbreak and white cydia icon. seems that ill have to do a tethered jailbreak this time.

is there any other options? suggestions appreciated, very specific suggestions and links GREATLY appreciated.

So did you buy an iPhone 3GS 32 gb and unlock it with the 06.15.00 baseband already and just want to see if there are any alternate methods to do an unlock to that iPhone? Just trying to understand your sentence structure.

well i have jailbroken it and cydia worked initially , now its crashing. i want to do a tetherless jailbreak if possible, and also want to unlock because im with simple mobile.. the redsnow is giving me grief this time.. last time was a cinch..??!!

Everything is ok then. Just run an untethered greenpois0n rc6 jailbreak and you will be fine.

how can i unlock if i use the greenpoison jailbreak.. i used redsnow with the cydia unlock previously

Nope. Since you already have the 06.15.00 baseband, it's going to stay that way, no matter how hard you try to get rid of it.

getting this error "iphone can not be restored error 3194" with the 4.2.1 ipsw

That firmware isn't being signed anymore. Normal error to get. Did you get this phone from a retail store or from someone? Bc if it's from someone else they might have saved SHSHs for you to use to restore. If not and you don't have SHSHs, you can't restore to anything but 4.3

It is not unlockable. It is jailbreakable but it is a tethered jb (and a bit unstable as well)

Yes but you said you have 6.15.00? It's still unlockable. Your just going to have to 4.3 if you want to restore. You would have to use a custom 4.3 bc of your baseband. The jailbreak will be tethered though. And it isn't very stable right now.

You would create one. Go to ih8sn0w.com and download sn0wbreeze.

Go to the downloads section here on MMi on get a 4.3 stock ipsw (firmware). If we don't have one up yet, go to felixbruns.de

Then open sn0wbreeze and create the custom firmware with the stock firmware you downloaded.

If you need to activate (meaning you don't have an official sim) go into Expert mode in Sn0wbreeze and select " activate from the general submenu. If you have a SIM, don't select it. You can activate with your SIM in iTunes later after the restore.

Edit: you'll also need to get redsn0w 0.9.6rc8 and a stock 4.2.1 firmware. You need this tool to set your phone into pwned DFU mode before restoring to the custom firmware.

ugh seems like the old redsnow jb worked .. even opened cydia and added my sources.. then first reboot STUCK on apple logo.. owwww this is killing me

it was 4.2.1 until i started to jailbreak.. ran the 4.2.1 restore and have had grief since.. now i am getting apple logo and the same error when trying to restore..ugh

ive downloaded all the necessary downloads.. any particular order to do this??..
?1. make the custom 4.3 firmware..
?2. run redsnow and use the 4.3? if so why do i need the 4.2.1

sorry im a newb.. i know youve got better things to do but i really appreciate it

It sounds like you had a tethered jailbreak if it was on 4.2.1. Meaning you would've just had to run redsn0w to boot tether to get your phone up and running.

Do you have SHSHs for 4.2.1?

You need 4.3 to make a custom firmware to restore to. You need 4.2.1 just so redsn0w will run. You only use redsn0w to put your phone in DFU mode and nothing else. Then you would restore to the custom firmware you made with 4.3
