3GS on custom 4.2.1 but no network connection!

My brother done something to his 3GS, I dont know what. I think he might have accidentally updated to 4.3, it was stuck in recovery mode, and wouldnt allow me to restore on 4.2.1. It was jailbroken before he done whatever he did.

I've managed to restore it to 4.2.1 CFW, but there is no network connection, so no calls can be made nor texts sent or received. The baseband is 06.15.00 if that helps

Are you using an unofficial carrier? Like t-mobile US?

I'm in the UK using Virgin Mobile. Not sure what the phone was on before he bought it though

Since you restored, have you installed ultrasn0w in cydia?

Ummm nope! Would that be the answer then? I looked for it but I couldn't find it. Do I need to add a repo?

Most likely, the repo should be ultrasn0w.com
