[HOW TO] Downgrade 4.3 to 4.2.1 & Jailbreak (ONLY IF 4.2.1 SHSH Saved)
Okay I know this is super easy for most people and explain in how to downgrade/upgrade/restore but I just figured I'd make my own post on this since I did run into a few issue's and maybe it would help out others as well.
So this is for people on iPhone 4 operating on 4.3 software that were previously jailbroken on 4.2.1 with saved SHSH's. Basically if you purposely or accidently updated your software to the 4.3 and want to go back to the 4.2.1 and jailbroken.
*1. Turn on iPhone (make sure you turn off iTunes once it boots up)
*2. Open program TinyUmbrella v4.30.03
*3. Click onto your iPhone device and click on "Save SHSH" and wait for it to finish saving your files(You can click onto "Log" and watch the process of it saving the SHSH files)
*5. While still inside of TinyUmbrella v4.30.03 click on the "Advanced" tab (3 options i center of the screen - General, Log, Advanced)
*6. Once under the "Advanced" tab, make sure every option is clicked with a check mark EXCEPT "Set Hosts to Cydia on Exit (If you need a clean restore from Apple uncheck this box)"
*7. In TinyUmbrella v4.30.03 press "Start TSS Server"
*8. While still in TinyUmbrella v4.30.03 press "Enter Recovery" (This will send your iPhone 4.3 iOS into the recovery mode to where you can select restore your iPhone.
*9. Once iTunes 10.2 open's up and/or you open up the program, press "shift+restore" (for PC) or option+restore (for MAC)
*7. Scroll through your list of firmwares and select the iPhone3,1_4.2.1_8C148_Restore.ipsw
*10. iTunes 10.2 will start to restore your phone like it normally would. It will get about 60% or more of the way done and you will recieve a "Error 1013" code (Do not worry, you are expecting to get this error code)
*11. Go and start the program Greenpois0n RC6 (do not start the jailbreak yet!!!)
*12. Now go back to the program TinyUmbrella v4.30.03 and press the button "Exit Recovery" (your phone will go back to the apple logo so you can manually put your iPhone into DFU mode by pressing the power&home button's)
*13. Start the Greenpois0n RC6 jailbreak process at this point and follow it's directions with one twist, DO NOT LET GO OF THE HOME BUTTON EVEN WHILE THE CODING IS GOING ACROSS THE SCREEN!!!!
*14. Now the phone is iOS 4.2.1 jailbroke but no Cydia (there is were Redsn0w comes in) Open up redsn0w 0.9.7b6 and press "Browse" and select the iOS firmware iPhone3,1_4.2.1_8C148_Restore.ispw (it'll load the firmware into it's setup)
*15. Click on the "Next" option on the botton
*16. Click the "Install Cydia" option if not already selected and press "Next"
*17. Turn off your iPhone at this point and then press "Next" (Basically follow redsn0w's instructions")
*18. It will install Cydia at this point and the phone is already jailbroken from the Greenpois0n. So once it is set up you are good to go ahead and go back into iTunes 10.2 and select the option "restore from YOURNAMEHERE's backup" and it will put all your information and settings back onto the phone just like it was before.
I hope this helps out for anybody else having any issue's with purposely or accidently updating their iPhone to the new 4.3 iOS firmware.
Thank you. I need to get the pictures uploaded, I know if most people are like me you greatly need pictures lol. There are just a few tweaks as well to the tutorial to make it a touch easier that others have pointed out to me.
Damn got my hopes up... ( no windows version of redsn0w )
Also is there anyway to download the 4.2.1 shsh blobs from cydia to have them on my computer, as i have them saved there but cant access them
* Nevermind i collected the shsh blobs off cydia from TinyUmbrella just wouldnt download them at first for some reason...
BTW! i used this tutorial up til step *13, then just used the loader app that came from greenpois0n to install cydia and skipped the need for redsn0w xD
also had to activate iphone after step *13 and before step *14

I am new to this entire process, but have learned a lot over the last few hours.
Question about returning to 4.2.1. If I have the IPSW and not the SHSH can I still "turn back the clock" or am I stuck in 4.3 limbo until the jailbreak comes out?
Forgot to say, this is a brand new phone, and never jailbroken/unlocked.

I need some help. I currently have an iPhone 4 on 4.1, I want to upgrade to 4.2.1 and then use GreenPoi0sn to jailbreak it. Everytime I go to upgrade or restore to 4.2.1 on itunes I get the 3194 error. Is there a version of tiny umbrella out yet to help me get my 4.1 upgraded to 4.2.1? Thanks for any help.
Not sure, I have 4.1 installed not jailbroken, and I have had no firmware higher than 4.1 on my device. So I don't believe I have 4.2.1 SHSH. Whenever I try to upgrade to 4.2.1 on itunes I get the 3194 error.

I used this method & it downgraded okay only trouble I had I lost the use of the phone eg. could not phone out or get calls, someway, by the way I am with Vodfone,the only way i could retrieve,the use of the phone was to re-install 4.3,reckon I did something wrong as it downgraded to 4.2.1, would like any feed back.
