Default Problems restoring from 4.1 to 4.2.1 on iPhone 4

    Hello people,

I had my iPhone 4 on 4.1, jailbreaked (not unlocked). I deleted in "/System/Library/" the "Cache" folder (don't ask why). After rebooting, the iTunes Logo with the USB Cable came up (Recovery Mode).

So, I downloaded Firmware 4.1 and 4.2.1 from Apple. When I try to restore to any of those two, I am getting errors. First, I had the 3194 error. After editing the etc/hosts/ file on Windows, I managed to bypass that, however, later, when the restore is being verified, following errors come up: 1004 and 1014 or something.

Please, can anyone help me get my iPhone back?

i think its something to do with itunes and jailbreaks,
Try kicking out of recovery using tinyumbrella or by running greepois0n or which ever you're using to JB
Being an i can be a lot of pressure. you have to live right up to the small point.

The 4.3 Restore worked. Sucks actually. TinyUmbrella might have helped...

It seems like Apple blocked upgrading to firmware which are not the latest release...
