Just want to make sure I'm doing this right. I jailbreak my gf's phone and upkeep it. She updated iTunes and updated her iPhone 4 from the 4.2.1 with the greenpois0n rc5 hack to the 4.3 software and lost her jailbreak. Just want to make sure that I'm guiding her right on how to do it. She is on a PC. I did save her SHSH for 4.2.1 on Cydia but not on TinyUmbrella (if that makes a difference?)
Goto TinyUmbrella and save SHSH for 4.3 signature
Goto iTunes and shift+ restore
Click on iPhone software 4.2.1 ispw
once fully reloaded, run Greenpois0n RC6
Run Redsn0w 9.7c and click on install Cydia

Right now I'm seeing 4.2.1 is still being signed. So I don't believe you'll need SHSHs.
So you'd want to just plain shift+restore to stock 4.2.1. Using TinyUmbrella might actually hinder the restore. That seems to be a prevalent problem right now but most users have just stopped using TU and set host files back to normal if edited before, and the restore went well.
For the jb, if you don't have an official SIM card, run redsn0w first to install Cydia then run Greenpois0n to untether jb it.
If you do have a SIM, greenpois0n alone is fine. After jb just activate with the SIM in itunes
SHSHs might be needed then. Apple could have stopped signing 4.2.1 today or something. Error 3194 is the error when you don't have SHSHs or are not accessing SHSHs
Just making sure I understand this correctly. I never saved the SHSH files to TinyUmbrella at any point. But I did save the SHSH files to Cydia (clicked on make life easy button and at the top is shows current SHSH files). So when I run TinyUmbrella now and I click on save SHSH files it should pull the 4.2.1 SHSH and save it to TinyUmbrella?
okay, I pulled and now have the 4.2.1 SHSH saved on TinyUmbrella, do I now need to run the TSS Server and unclick set hosts to cydia??
okay, I have it loading the 4.2.1 software and now I have the 1013 error code, I have set hosts to cydia turned off on tinyumbrella.... I tried using Greenpois0n to finnish the load/jailbreak and I can't get it to go into dfu mode? go back into Redsn0w and force it into DFU through that and then load greenpois0n?

Yes, that is where her device was but she put the 4.3 back onto it and so I decided to upgrade my iPhone and then redowngrade it back down to make sure I knew what I was doing and I got mine to work fine. I just think I need to have her start TinyUbrella up and have her exit recovery mode and then start greenpois0n up and jailbreak it to finish the install and then use redsnow to get cydia back on... that's what I did earlier that worked for me, sound right?
