Ok, so, I got asked if I could repair someone's phone. It is a 3GS he bought off craigslist. Now, when he got it, it was jb/unlocked, then, i guess he tried to upgrade to the 4.3. Now, all that is showing up is the restore screen. I have tried restoring a few times, keep getting error 26. Tried restoring to an older firmware, nothing. Tried restoring to 4.3 after making sure tinyumbrella didn't point back to cydia... nothing. Even tried kicking, and repairing the recovery, still nothing. Now, from all this, it kinda sounds like whoever unlocked it, installed the ipad baseband. Since he has ATT, is there anyway to just get this thing working so he can use it?
It might be like you said the iPad bb causing a problem. But I can't be sure. It sucks bc it probably doesn't have SHSHs. Might just have to wait for a tool for custom fw to be released for 4.3 to bypass that 6.15.00 problem since that's the solution for 4.2.1.
Oh I forgot, I don't know if 4.2.1 is still being signed so SHSHs aren't needed. Try a custom fw for 4.2.1 that doesn't have the iPad bb packaged.

Ok, so, tried the new redsn0w a couple of times, but each time, i get errors. Says "cannot create active x file" or something similar... any other suggestions?
Ok, I am gathering that you must be missing that ActiveX from your comp. I don't know what it is but you can either find out and install it, or try another comp. Because I've used sn0wbreeze and never ran into an error like that, so I think it might be specific to that you don't have the necessary component.
