After 4.2.1 cfw restore failure, stuck with running blackrain
I have iphone 3gs 3.1.2, with newer bootrom, jb/unlock, tethered blackrain.
I wanted to install 4.2.1 to my iphone. I created cfw 4.2.1 with snowbreeze. When I'm trying to restore my iphone with 4.2.1 I'm getting 40, 1600 errors. I tried many methods to restore this cfw, I tried ireb. I have created 4.1 cfw, and while restoring, I'm getting same errors.
I don't have 3.1.2 shsh, so I can't resore to 3.1.2.
Another problem is, that when I'm trying to usually turn on my iphone, by connecting it to pc, and booting with blackrain program, it just stucks on geohot face.
So, I can't install cfw, and I can't use my iphone on 3.1.2.
Any ideas?
Stock 4.2.1 for redsn0w. You're using redsn0w only to put your phone into pwned DFU mode so you don't get an error when you restore to your custom firmware.
Restoring to what? I was going to say you should restore to a stock 3.1.2 if you have SHSHs for it. That will at least get you out o recovery mode. Then put it into pwned DFU with redsn0w and then restore to the custom 4.2.1 ipsw.
You need to put your phone into pwned DFU mode to use a custom firmware. Why can you not get it into DFU mode? What is your phone doing to prevent it? Because I've been in recovery mode before and still can get into pwned DFU.
The only thing I can think of is if you try making a new custom firmware and try again. If it isn't working, it might be hardware failure. I can't be sure though.
