Default iPhone4 Message & Ringtones Mixed

I just upgraded to 4.2 and rejailbroke my phone. Almost all my settings saved themselves except for my message tone. For some reason, it plays my ringtone each time I get a message. I'm just about ready to shoot myself.

The last time this happened, I had to replace two files: EIFB.m4r and MVKW.m4r

EIFB is in library/ringtones, but changing it's name had no effect.

I know it has something to do with them, and I think those are hashed versions of my ringtones, but I have no idea where I can find them. Any help?

In my audio settings, no matter what text tone I select, I get the same damn ringtone playing every time I get a text message. Anything is better than this.

O, and I can't find any of the ringtones that show up in my settings. I believe that's the key to all of this.

Check /System/Library/Audio/UISounds. The default directory has these sixty-six items:

    ReceivedMessage.caf end_record.caf
    RingerChanged.caf end_video_record.caf
    SIMToolkitCallDropped.caf jbl_ambiguous.caf
    SIMToolkitGeneralBeep.caf jbl_begin.caf
    SIMToolkitNegativeACK.caf jbl_cancel.caf
    SIMToolkitPositiveACK.caf jbl_confirm.caf
    SIMToolkitSMS.caf jbl_no_match.caf
    SentMessage.caf lock.caf
    Tink.caf long_low_short_high.caf
    Tock.caf low_power.caf
    Voicemail.caf mail-sent.caf
    alarm.caf middle_9_short_double_low.caf
    beep-beep.caf new-mail.caf
    begin_record.caf photoShutter.caf
    begin_video_record.caf shake.caf
    ct-busy.caf short_double_high.caf
    ct-call-waiting.caf short_double_low.caf
    ct-congestion.caf short_low_high.caf
    ct-error.caf sms-received1.caf
    ct-keytone2.caf sms-received2.caf
    ct-path-ack.caf sms-received3.caf
    dtmf-0.caf sms-received4.caf
    dtmf-1.caf sms-received5.caf
    dtmf-2.caf sms-received6.caf
    dtmf-3.caf sq_alarm.caf
    dtmf-4.caf sq_beep-beep.caf
    dtmf-5.caf sq_lock.caf
    dtmf-6.caf sq_tock.caf
    dtmf-7.caf unlock.caf
    dtmf-8.caf ussd.caf
    dtmf-9.caf vc~ended.caf
    dtmf-pound.caf vc~invitation-accepted.caf
    dtmf-star.caf vc~ringing.caf
Since text messages are controlled out of that directory (I think), I bet the aberrant file is in there.

PS: I bet you restored from a backup when you re-jailbroke after the restore to 4.2.1, didn't you?

PPS: A restore and setting up as a new phone will also solve this problem.
