WiFi not working after JB

hi guys. need ur help badly. i recently just jailbreak my iphone 3g to 4.2.1 and it somehow screwed up my wifi i think. whenever i scan for wifi, nothing shows up AT ALL when the router is just 10 meters away. the JB updated my baseband to 05.15.04. i think that screwed up my wifi. i downgraded to 3.1.3 and it's still the same. can anyone please help? thank you guys!!

The baseband didn't screw up your wifi.

Are you restoring from back up rather than setting it up as new? You should restore, set up as new, and then see if your wifi is working. If it does not work on a clean restore, your phone's wifi hardware is broken.
