Exclamation Upgrade to iOS 4.2.1 or wait for 4.3?

Hi guys, I've got a bit of a dilemma at the moment. I'm currently using a jailbroken iPhone 4 on 4.1 which I have got setup perfectly with a ton of Cydia apps tweaks and themes. Basically it's running like a dream, but it took me a long time to get it how I want it.

However I'd like to upgrade soon, as there are lot of apps coming out that require iOS 4.2 or above to run now, and since GreePois0n was updated to jailbreak 4.2.1 it's very tempting.

The only thing I'm dreading is going through and setting up my phone again (I have over 30 cydia apps and 300 App Store apps) so it would really habve to be worthwhile for me to make the jump. I have PKGBackup which takes away a lot of the setup pain, but it's still a lot of effort and time, if I'm on only going to have to repeat the process when 4.3 comes out on March 11.

The problem is if I holf off to to 4.3, is there likely going to be a jailbreak released straight away? Or will I be unbearably stuck on 4.1 waiting for a jailbreak for 4.3, or worse still, be stuck on un-jailbroken 4.3 until the jailbreak is released?

It's a tough decision so I's really apprecaite some input on how you would go about it if you were in my position.

From what you are describing, I would stay at 4.1 and wait for 4.3. A lot of people jump as soon as a new jailbreak / unlock is released. I have always waited a few weeks after a new jailbreak is released for all the potential problems to be resolved. This way, I don't have to restore and jailbreak multiple times.

Thanks for your input reddawg. I'm starting to lean that way.

Is there any talk about an untethered jailbreak for 4.3 yet? As I don't want to be stuck on 4.1 for ages.

Can you please clarify something for me?: When Apple release 4.3, will I still have the choice to upgrade to 4.2.1 in iTunes using a downloaded IPSW? Or will iTunes force me to upgrade to 4.3?

If it is working for you at the moment, and it sounds like it, I would wait. 4.3 will be jailbroken soon enough.

I decided to go ahead and update to 4.2.1 soon as an untethered JB came out, and I'm glad I did. My proximity sensor problem is FINALLY, completely fixed.
