No, that exploit has been closed since 4.02. But you can use the latest greenpois0n without having to restore from a custom ipsw.

-Supported devices :
-iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G on iOS 4.2.1 and older
- iPod touch 4G, iPod touch 3G, iPod touch 2G on iOS 4.2.1 and older
- iPad on iOS 3.2.2 and older
-I have jailbroken iPod Touch 2G IOS 4.2.1 MC Model , with greenpois0n Rc 6.1 , and you can have animated boot logos too
After you jailbreak , turn off auto-lock , then you will find an icon named "Loader" on your springboard 2nd page open it and download cydia , let cydia refresh
Then it will reboot or respring , re-open cydia , **warez removed**

All jailbreaks on 4.2.1 at this time are untethered regardless of model.

The reason for jailbreaking is not for piracy, though some of you may disagree. Please don't associate jailbreaking for the sole reason of stealing, bc there are many of us who don't steal and who jailbreak for perfectly legitimate reasons. We know some people are not as honest as others, however we are not here to oppose. We are here to decline discussion on the topic on this forums bc these are forum rules. That's all. Thanks for your input though.
