So i ordered iPhone and its arriving tomorrow. It's 3Gs with iOS 4.3 and baseband 05.16.00 and after i already ordered it i found out 4.3 is not jailbreakable.. I did lot of googling but couldnt find much... So is jealbreaking & unlocking it possible or if not can it be downgraded?
You can downgrade to 4.2.1 and jailbreak with greenpoison but that baseband cannot be unlocked and unsure if you can put the iPad baseband on that to unlock.
Oh well thats good to know. So I've read somewhere you need SHSH blobs or something to downgrade with tinyumbrella is that true? Thought i dont even know what tinyumbrella is...
So how do I know is it possible to upgrade to iPad baseband?
You dont need SHSH to downgrade to 4.2.1 right now since that is the latest firmware. You only need SHSH when downgrading to a firmware that is not the most recent. I am sure it is possible to update your baseband to the ipad one, just not sure if the current tools will work since you have that beta baseband.
Ok so I'll try to find tutorial on how to downgrade from 4.3 somewhere around here.. I'll try to do it tomorrow when I actually get iPhone, and update this topic..

Ok so I downloaded 4.2.1 firmware from here, and I'm gonna follow this tutorial ... My iPhone is arriving in two hours, is there anything i should do before doing stuff from tutorial, like backup or something? And is there anything else i should know?
I did that and got into recovery loop.. Thats awesome and all, but thats not it. So i was trying to find a fix for recovery loop, and i found i have to download some USB drivers and then do something over terminal.. After i installed USB drivers all my peripherals stopped responding, after restarting compputer there was nothing i can do..

Ok I started it in DFU again and started greenp0ison clicked jailbreak.. It said gBdevlist missing and some other stuff, but then it began... Lot of stuff said on screen then quit button appeared on greenp0ison so i clicked it... iPhone looked frozen but after some time it said no successfull firmware download after 60000 ms!! giving up... And it stopped there
Yes i know but I dont have Windows disc, I'll try booting in safemod later.. Luckily i have dualboot with these fcked up windows..
Ok well now I managed getting out of that screen with lot of text, got back into recovery and I'm doing official restore through iTunes...
UPDATE: Oh ok I got 1015 there as well.

Oh look really i tried one more time and it succedded ...
Anyway now half stuff are in some foreign language and half in Croatian... I still have to unlock the phone to use my SIM card, but i thought i could use the phone like iPod without SIM card anyway? But looks like no, I only get slide for emergency call and nothing else...
So now I'll search for tutorial on how to update to iPad baseband and unlock it..
If you dont have a official sim to activate it just use redsnow 0.9.6rc8 and install cydia. That will get you past that emergency call screen, It can also install the iPad baseband for you if you want.
Successfully installed Cydia and iPad baseband through redsn0w.. But now phone isn't catching any signal (tho i've read sometimes that happens when you jailbreak it, so i shouldn't be afraid?)... Now I'll search for ultrasn0w or is it unlocked already?
Yes it worked.. Signal strenght for some reason is only two bars and sometimes brightess self decreases but..
Anyway thank you so much for your support i couldn't have done it without you, really i appreciate it.
