Why are my icons old?

Hey guys, the general problem here is the icons on my springboard for many apps are not updated to most recent ones.

Today, I saw that the icons for apps such as Kitten Cannon, Kamikaze Race, and Jetman have been updated and retina-displayed. Though, icons on my springboard dont look the same and are not retina-display. Let me just point a few things out:
* I am on iPhone 4, iOS 4.2.6
* I am jailbroken, but while in safe mode it does the same thing.
* Apps are all updated via App Store

Also, an app called Machinima was having the same problem. So I deleted it and reinstalled it to test it out. And after the new version was done installing, the icon switched back to the old one! What is up? I ASSUME it has to do with me being jailbroken, but not too sure since it still occured in safe mode. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Peacee.
