Default the old skype issue persists

    hi folks,

skype still throws me the "modified iOS" warning when starting for the first time, and skype notifications don't work. Is there any known solution for this? It's surprisingly hard to find recent information about this online. Lots of old info talked about updating mobile substrate, etc, but i have no idea what to do these days. Any advice greatly appreciated!

    thanks!

You'll have to search this forum but I believe there is a patch you can SSH on to your phone that fixes the iBooks issue. From what I remember that patch also fixes the Skype App issue with the modified iOS warning.

    Found it!

thanks for the thought, but didn't work for me. I still get the "This version of Skype is only supported on unmodified iPhone OS 3.0.x, 3.1.x, and 3.2.x." warning. Any other ideas?

It also seems that there's some confusion out there. People think that Skype is fully functional, but it's just that it has this annoying warning. As far as I can tell, however, notifications don't work when skype detects the jailbreak.

This worked for me. Try doing a hard reset of your iPhone and then when iOS loads again try launching Skype.
