    Default Battery drain

Hi i have jailbroken my iphone 3gs on 4.2.1 and the new greenpois0n and it is draining battery when it is turned off quite quickly, i turned all push notification's off and have done all the other battery saving setting's correctly but it is still draining it, it happened to me on the spirit jailbreak and i had to restore and upgrade and re-jailbreak to fix the problem is there any other way to fix this.

i would suggest what you did the last time it happened, also make sure that you are setting the phone up as "new" when the restore is complete and not from a "backup" especially if that backup is from a jailbroken phone
In the end we're all just chalk lines on the concrete, drawn only to be washed away. For the time that I've been given, I am what I am.

Yes i set it up this time as new phone so i lost my back ups and contacts but i might try another jailbreak program this time, greenpois0n was reliable on 4.1 but i have doubt's on 4.2.1 with battery drain and hot cooking battery.

Did you activate your phone legitimately through iTunes with a proper SIM (e.g., AT&T for an American phone; Softbank for a Japanese one, Rogers, Bell, Telus, etc. for a Canadian one), did you use SAM, or did you hacktivate with redsn0w/Pwnagetool?

    Allow me to clarify:

When you restored in iTunes to iOS 4.2.1 prior to using greenpois0n, how did you get past the "Connect to iTunes/Emergency Calls only" screen? With a Telstra SIM (or if Telstra SIM-unlocked your iPhone, any old SIM through iTunes), or with another way?

The reason I ask is phones not legitimately activated through iTunes (or SAM) generally tend to experience the problems you're describing: very hot device, burning through battery very quickly.

They activated it in the store at telstra and every time I restore through iTunes it connects to telstra and activates it and I have never been stuck on emergency call screen, so I would say telstra have activated it through there sim it isn't unlocked either' it is locked to telstra, I am back on standard iOS at the moment and are enjoying the speed with no glitches it's great but you get know mods, but I will probably go back to jailbreaking it soon on something other than greenpois0n
