problem...need help
hey guys,
so the problem is that my iphone 4, 1.59.00 baseband on iOS 4.1 is acting up. when i get phone calls from people they can't hear me but i can hear them. and the call then fails after a minute or so. but when i use skype to make phone calls, everything works fine. so i tinyumbrella restore to 4.1 and re-jailbroke it using limera1n and then unlocked using ultrasn0w. now im having the same problem PLUS there is no cellular data at all now. so the only thing i can do is use wifi and send/receive text messages. anyone got any advice?

I've got advice, but you're probably not going to like it...
You need to restore your baseband's firmware, it sounds like. Unfortunately, there is no way to restore the 01.59.00 version (the only unlockable one)...
If these problems persist or worsen, the only things I can think of are to get a swap-out at the Apple Store (they'll give you a new phone which will likely have an upgraded baseband on it) or restore to a firmware (custom or stock) with an upgraded baseband in it and hope that resolves it (03.10.01 being the only option).
It's worth noting that I (personally, treat as rumor and hearsay) am 99.8% sure that barring any shenanigans or incidental patches by Apple, there will be an i4 unlock within ten days of iOS 4.3's release... so option 3 is to hang in there until the iPhone Dev Team release their new unlock.
Good luck!

Thanks for the advice. Didn't know the new unlock was going to be released with iOS 4.3. Guess I'll just wait until the announce the iPad 2 and iOS 4.3 then.
UPDATE:
So I got the phone calls working again. By using SAM, but now I just don't have cellular data. -___- one thing after the other.

The cellular data may be an APN thing--are you sure your APN settings under Cellular Data are set correctly for your carrier?
Also, might be worth double-checking that your cell line is in good standing and has data active on the network's side...
Worth double-checking, right?
