Well I'm jailbroken and unlocked on iPhone 2G 3.1.2
I want to go to atleast 4.0 to get some apps that require that FW.
One problem, well 2.
My sleep/off button doesnt work and i cant put it in DFU mode
and I Don't have a SIM card.
can anyone help me please?
I just want to get to 4.0+

Apple didn't release any firmware for the iPhone 2G after 3.1.3. That's as high as you can go on that device.

so i'm stuck on 3.1.2 (7D11) and can't download other apps that require 4.0?
anyways i would like to re jailbreak it, like a fresh new iphone with cydia is it possiable without having to do dfu mode?

You can update it to version 3.1.3 and still have the ablilty to jailbreak and unlock. To jailbreak on 3.1.3 you can go on http://www.jailbreakme.com and jailbreak it with MobileSafari.
And it wont require you to put your device into DFU mode.

Exactly so, update to 3.1.3 with iTunes then after its done updating connect to Wifi on your iPhone and open Safari on your iPhone and "Slide to Jailbreak" it will jailbreak your phone right on your iPhone without having to put your device into DFU mode.

How about doing what iGoof told you? Borrow a sim card that works with a non-jailbroke iPhone.

If you're happy with your device as it is jailbroken, keep it that way. If you really want apps that require 4.0 or higher, I would suggest getting an iPhone 3G or an iPod Touch.
