cydia crashes while initilizing

ok so heres the deal i have jailbroke a number of iphones and this ones got me .... iphone4 ios 4.2.1 jailbroke with greenpoisi0n rc6.1 everything runs normally ,loader installes cydia no problem but when i first open cydia it will start initilizing then it resprings the device go back to cydia and same result ???? any ideas will be helpful

Try rebooting and let cydia initialize again.

done that , iv tryed rebooting several times i restored the iphone 3 times to clear it then re jailbroke , tryed to over break with redsn0w ........ yet every time i try to open cydia it starts to initialize runs for a min then resprings , i have done 5 iphone4's with this copy of greenpoisi0n with out flaw ?????? this is y im lost

I would say to restore but you have already done that. Have you tried restoring to a custom 4.2.1?

i had the same problem but i fixed it when you use greenpoisi0n rc6.1 you must pick the wright manufacture date it clearly asks you that at the begining try it ,it will solve your problem.

When does greenpois0n ask for a manufacture date?

Ya I have tried a custom firmware an when does greenpoisi0n ask for a mfg date all I have ever seen is the popup asking if ur jailbreaking atv

Gp doesn't ask for a manufacture date. Its just the appletv pop-up. What happens with the custom firmware?

Installed custom firmware via redsnow but did it over top of greenpoisi0n gonna try tonight to run it fresh still confused on the issue with greenpoisi0n rc6.1 tho this is the first time iv ran into this issue ( maybe a bug in loader ???)

Did you add cydia with the custom firmware?

I don't know what's plaguing you with GP, I know that I've used it on multiple devices and haven't seen a problem yet.

Not yet but gonna try that if all else fails this has turned into more than just getting it working . I'm really interested in digging into it to see if I can find the source of the problem lol

K so after fighting with this for a day in a half and banging my head against a wall ........... Powered up the phone clicked Cydia and guess what ....... Now it runs and loads normally ???? "wondering if Cydia was having a server issue " idk but thanks for the advise ipittsburgh

Yeah I know what you mean. Once I had an iPhone 3GS that took me about an hour to jb with redsn0w just because it would not go past uploading ramdisk, I had to keep doing a hard reset then try again and again.

Oh, cool. Well at least its working now.

I'm starting to think the dev teams are mor concerned with their pissing matches then what's good for the community .....there too busy fighting on twitter and irc they forget to make the jb's user friendly lol

Thanks again for the advise if I ever figure out the underlying issues I'll post em here I'm gonna search the crash logs and see if there's anything there

Who knows? The last thing I saw was something iH8sn0w said pissed off someone else.

Definitely would like to know why it kept crashing if you can find the cause.
