    Talking iPhone 3GS on 4.0

    I have a 3GS running 4.0 on firmware 05.13.04

It's my sister's phone and she's visiting me out in the far east for a few weeks. I'd like to unlock her, but don't want to mess with the 06.15 baseband unpgrade since she is on AT&T at home and just wants it to work without messing with it the next time she updates it.

I'd like her to have service out here in Guam, so what is the best way to jailbreak/unlock her that will be REVERSIBLE when she leaves next month?

Sorry, I've been out of the jailbreak game for awhile, and the only playing I've done recently has been just GreenPoisoning my factory unlocked iPhone4 I picked up in Malaysia.

open safari, go to jailbreakme.com , slide to jailbreak, cydia will download, reboot, cydia will be on the springboard, open cydia, do the complete upgrade, reboot, open cydia search for ultrasn0w, install ultrasn0w, reboot, and you're done.

DO NOT install the iPad baseband there is no need to.

    Thanks, Pittsburgh.

This stuff is a lot simpler than it used to be back in 2008. ;-) jailbreakme.com? Geez!

She's up and running, much appreciated.

Good to hear you got it to work. jailbreakme.com only works for iPhone 4.0 and 4.0.1 and iPad 3.2.1 , it sure is convenient though.
