Springboard Crash Help
Hello,
I am new to this forum, and I wasn't quite sure where to post this, so please tell me if it isn´t supposed to be in this subforum.
This afternoon after installing a simple dock theme, my springboard crashed. My iPod (Not iPhone, but its almost the same..) is now running in safe mode, and I have no clue on how to get to normal mode again.
Firstly I just red the ´help´ thingy. It said I just had to restart my iPod, so I did, nothing happend. Step two, was to remove recently installed extensions. So I removed the two last downloaded themes, and then I removed all my unused extensions. I tried to restart my iPod, and springboard. But once again nothing happend. Step three is to download an app in Cydia called ´Crash Reporter` so I did, and it gave me a report of the crash. Without any ´suspects´ of the crash. So again I have no clue what might have caused it.
And then finaly, step four is to ask for help on forums. So thats what I am doing now. I guess if nobody knows how to get into normale mode again, I´ll just have to restore it and put everyhing back on it again. But I´d prefer to not restore it.
If it helps, I have an iPod third gen, jailbroken with Limera1n, with firmware 4,1. Haven´t had a problem for months, until now.
P.S If its necessary I can copy the ´Crash Log` and ´Syslog`, of my crash.
Thanks

Try uninstall Winterboard which will also uninstall all your themes.

I just got this iphone 3 and am having this Springboard crash problem. It happens whenever I try to access a link. For example an email with a link embedded...crash. The text messages that pop in with the option reply/close. I can close. If I choose "reply" Springboard crashes. Also, I have only had this phone (purchased used) for 3 days and I'm over 50...and reading these posts is like reading another language. So if anyone has an answer, please word it as if you were talking to an idiot.

Uninstall mobile substrate, that'll get rid of your software related issues ;0
Assuming you are Jailbroken and have Cydia.
Go into 'safe mode' via installing sbsettings from Cydia and swiping your bar (where it has time, battery %, service) and clicking power and safe mode.
If it still crashes while your in safe mode, it is usually a cydia install app\tweak.
